After finally making it back this weekend to my home, I realised that being at home and being at uni are completely different experiences. At home I was welcomed by my lovely mother who kindly took me on a Tesco’s food shop (Oh yeahhhh) and we had family Chinese which was honestly the best thing although I still can’t move too quickly… It was my sister 16th birthday (Happy birthday!) and it made me think back to when I was 16, pretty naïve and pre-pubescent (not an attractive look). So I thought this week I would create an outfit that reminded me of my school days.
My school colour was maroon so this maroon pinafore struck me as something that reminded me of my school days. I loved the corduroy material, very 70s, as it is very on trend right now. It’s from Topshop and is a staple for your autumn wardrobe. I personally love this outfit as it seems to have my classic teen trend style but it’s mixed with a few mature pieces to bring it up to date.
Maroon pinafore Topshop £42, Poloneck £12 Next, Adidas trainers £60, Rucksack Topshop £20
As you can see, I teamed this pinafore with a plain ribbed black polo neck to make the maroon pop. Obviously I had to go with the Adidas trainers cos are you a school girl if you don’t have a pair? Finally I matched this outfit with my black topshop rucksack. I love this rucksack as it is extremely chic and classic and totally modernises this outfit. Pinafores are such a gorgeous statement piece that should definitely be in your wardrobe and for the winter season, I would recommend a maroon colour!
