Blog 39: How I tackle the striped dress

No summer wardrobe is complete without a striped dress, preferably in blue and white. That’s because it is the most simple item to wear and style. You can dress it down with sandals and a straw hat to go to the beach or dress it up with heels and some sassy sunglasses. And most importantly, this item never goes out of style so you can wear it for summers to come (unless you’re eating the food equivalent of the great wall of china like I’m currently doing). I’ve been looking for a versatile striped dress for a while now because I wanted it to be sophisticated but still have the cutesy look to it. After months and months (possibly only a day, my sense of time has gone out the window) I found the perfect dress! This dress I got from ASOS for only £5 in the sale. I got it in a size 8 and fits me perfectly.  This is how it all came together:

Dress £5 ASOS, Sandals £40 TKmaxx, Bag £30 TKmaxx

The reason I choose this striped dress over all the others is because of the gorgeous low neckline which flatters my figure and the small cross over detail at the back which makes the outfit slightly different. I wanted to dress it up a bit for a summer party vibe so I added a LYDC handbag and my TKmaxx Sandals. The prints on the bag contrast with the stripes which give off a more sophisticated look. The sandals dress the outfit up a bit without making me look too ‘cute’. The dress fits perfectly and is true to size.

Now unfortunately by the time I had finished rambling on, the dress had sold out! However I will find you some cheap alternatives which I will link down here:

Thanks so much for reading, love you all!

I wish I could wear dresses with sleeves in the summer! But it’s so hot here, I can really only do it if I know I’m going to be inside the whole time. 🙁

Ah that’s such a bummer! Maybe think of dresses with fluted or bell sleeves?
