In my opinion, prepping for a party is sometimes better than the party itself. My routine requires me to leave an hour for dress picking, crying because I have ‘nothing to wear’ then finally putting on the spring party dress I first put on. An hour for doing eyeliner because it’s never even. Then a solid 2 hours for doing the rest of the makeup. That’s ignoring the 2 hours before prepping and priming your skin and the hours the night before when you pamper yourself in a hot shower. Welcome to the wonderful world of party prepping. However sometimes I simply don’t have the 6+ hours to put in for preparing for a party which is when thing get awfully stressful and I have to do my eyeliner in 15 minutes and I blink and it streams down my face ruining every chance I had to look hot.
One area I can improve on however is knowing what I’m going to wear that evening. The most important part being the dress. I know I’ve done a post on party dresses before (link down below, casual self-promo) but I thought I would do an updated version. I don’t like to blend into the crowd, I like to stand out so getting a funky dress is my number one priority. I have had the honour of collaborating with Yoins the brand. I’m so excited to work with them because of their amazing range of dresses. They do a range of different types of clothing but I was immediately drawn towards their dress category. It was here I found my perfect spring party dress!
Halter Gold Thread Embroidered Hollow Out Backless Dress
Spring party Dress, £22.18
When I first saw this, I was blown away. However I’m always so sceptical about ordering dresses online that look so perfect because 99% of the time you look like a fat potato in a bin liner. When this came it looked exactly how it does on the website. It is also amazing quality. I can’t believe it is only £22! The other thing I was slightly worried about was sizing.
I got the UK 8-10 and I was a bit scared of the backless section especially considering my boob size, I didn’t want a nip slip, but again I was so surprised at how fabulous it turned out to be. It is true to size and I actually feel very supportive in the dress considering you have to brave it braless. My only criticism would be that sometimes the under slip would ride up a bit and the outer netting part would be a bit itchy. However for £22, I am actually stunned at the quality! It is a thick material with beautiful lace detailing and I would recommend it so much!
So for those of you who aren’t so into this dress, I’ve created my own wishlist for Yoins which has the most stylish and beautiful pieces in stock right now! Check them out below
- Sequin V-neck Sleeveless Open Back Mini Dress – isn’t this gorgeous. It’s a perfect alternative to the dress I was wearing if you weren’t so fond of the neck line. £15.04 (was £34.47)
2. Sexy Sleeveless V-neck Mini Satin Dress – For a more sexy and slick dress, this dress is the one. With a choker detail and adjustable straps, this is a fab piece that you’re not going to have sizing issues with. £12.66
3. V-neck Backless Random Floral Print Mini Dress in White – This dress is perfect for spring parties. The floral print is very spring and the style of the dress is spot on for a formal event. £12.66
Thanks so much for reading everyone! A lot of effort has gone into this post so I hope you find it useful. Would like to thank Yoins for gifting me the dress. If you want to check them out here’s the link:
