Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Emma and I’m 17 and living in the UK. From an early age I loved to stand out by wearing the most bizarre and horrific outfits ever. Aged 7, I loved to dress myself up in my mums dresses and heeled shoes and try to gracefully descend the stair before greeting my horrified mother at the bottom who was grateful that I hadn’t broken my ankles. It wasn’t until I was 13 that I realised that wearing the same outfit everyday might be slightly odd and very unhygienic and from that point on, shopping trips were my favourite hobby. With my limited budget of £10 per trip, my friends and I would have the best time hunting down the deals from high-street stores to charity shops.
Aged 14, I set up a small business where I sold hand sewn skirts, made to measure of course. I really enjoyed the experience of making and selling and from that moment on I knew I wanted to run a business. However having run subsequent businesses gaining small amounts of profit, something was missing. It wasn’t until I went to a careers evening at my school that I realised what I had to do next. I was so fortunate to be able to speak to a lady who worked at Conde Nast. I knew by this point that fashion was my calling however I also knew it was and still is a tough industry to break into. Therefore I asked her what I could do to make me stand out. She suggested creating a fashion blog.
After a few months of thinking about it, I finally got the courage and confidence to create my first post. Yes throwback to How I tackle Spring weather! It was honestly one of the most scary things I’ve ever done. It’s hard to put yourself out there to be judged by the rest of the world. However I was shocked with the amazing response that I got from all my friends and family who to this day still support me (even though I must annoy them so much with it). And there at the age of 15, I began my fashion blog.
Now writing this aged 17, the past two years have been incredible. I absolutely love writing about fashion and being able to work with brands that I adore has been an added bonus. I can’t believe that in the past two years I have had over 110,000 views and counting! It’s amazing to know that people actually want to hear what have to say and I love to be a trusted source. I really strongly encourage anyone to start a blog who had a passion for a subject. We all want to hear what you have to say!
Finally would love to thank Charlotte for being my editor since day 1 to correct my awful spelling and grammar. Emma for being my manager and supportive friend throughout. My parents for encouraging and supporting me even when they have no clue how a blog works! And finally everyone else who clicks on my link, who searches through my blog and who leaves a comment. Thank you <3
